Wright State University seeks an adjunct faculty member to teach nursing classes on an as-needed basis at the Lake Campus for Fall 2026 through Summer 2027. This position supports the BSN program by delivering instruction across multiple nursing courses.
Teach BSN program coursework as assigned, including didactic, laboratory, and off-campus clinical instruction. Deliver course content using sound teaching strategies to enhance student understanding of difficult concepts. Schedule and teach course sections that may include day and/or evening hours. Collaborate with teams to implement and improve course delivery; serve as a clinical role model for students.
Master’s degree in nursing or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a practicing RN. Must have an unencumbered RN license in Ohio. BCI & FBI background checks required; BLS/CPR certification; immunizations current. Academic qualifications or professional experience covering the subject matter taught. Must possess an academic degree one level above the level taught; or meet terminal degree requirements; if teaching outside field, complete at least 18 graduate level credit hours. At least 1 year of professional or teaching experience.
Demonstrated excellence in college-level teaching. Ability to organize and manage a group of nursing students to meet course objectives and maximize student learning outcomes. Knowledge of course management software and classroom instruction to meet academic needs. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated experience providing direct patient care in hospital, clinic, outpatient, community, or office settings. Strong communication skills.
