About the Role WSU’s School of Fine and Performing Arts is accepting applications for adjunct teaching positions for Fall 2026 through Summer 2027. Individuals with academic and performance qualifications are encouraged to apply for positions in Music. Adjunct instructors will contribute to the department by teaching courses in music and supporting student learning within the program.
What You'll Do
- Teach assigned music courses for Fall 2026 through Summer 2027, including planning, instruction, and assessment.
- Maintain course materials, assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, and participate in related department activities as needed.
- Collaborate with School of Fine and Performing Arts faculty to ensure quality instruction and alignment with program objectives.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum Qualifications: Professional experience or academic qualifications covering subject matter taught within the Fine and Performing Arts. Applicant must possess an academic degree one level above the level at which they will teach; in terminal degree programs, adjunct faculty must possess the same level of degree. If teaching outside field of their advanced degree, they must have completed at least 18 graduate level credit hours of instruction in the field where they teach. At least 1 year professional or teaching experience or the equivalent.
- Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. with at least 3 years professional or teaching experience.
Nice to Have
- Ph.D. in Music or related field with at least 3 years of professional or teaching experience.
