About the Role
WSU's Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering is seeking adjunct instructors for the 2026-2027 academic year (Fall 2026 through Summer 2027). We welcome applicants across adjunct ranks from instructor to professor. There may be opportunities for online courses in addition to on-campus instruction.
What You'll Do
- Teach courses within the Mechanical & Materials Engineering department as assigned, with a focus on delivering high-quality instruction.
- Provide course development and assessment as appropriate; handle online synchronous/asynchronous offerings if available.
- Dedicate teaching effort (Essential Functions: 100% of time) to fulfill assigned duties.
What We're Looking For
- Professional experience or academic qualifications covering subject matter taught within the department.
- An academic degree at least one level above the level to be taught (except in terminal degree programs, where the teaching level matches the degree).
- If teaching outside the field of the advanced degree, completion of at least 18 graduate credit hours in that field.
- At least 1 year of professional or teaching experience.
Nice to Have
- Ph.D. with at least 3 years of professional or teaching experience.
