About the Role
Warner Pacific University is seeking adjunct instructors to teach in its traditional undergraduate program in Portland (Mt. Tabor) and its evening Adult Degree Program with campuses throughout the Portland metro area. There is also a need for adjuncts to teach in its Master of Education (MEd), Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT), and Master in Management & Organizational Leadership (MMOL) programs. A master’s degree is required for all adjunct positions, with a PhD or discipline-specific doctorate preferred. All adjunct roles are temporary, part-time, teaching one evening per week.
What You'll Do
- Teach courses in the designated undergraduate disciplines (Accounting, Math, English, Business, Organizational Dynamics, Human Development, Psychology, and Social Science) and in the graduate programs (MEd, MAT, MMOL) as assigned.
- For MEd adjuncts, write a syllabus and select a textbook.
- Deliver courses in the evening, maintain professional attire, and foster an engaging learning environment.
- Complete background checks and all required paperwork; adhere to Employment and Lifestyle Standards.
- Submit required materials with the application (e.g., transcripts, etc.).
- What We're Looking For
- Master’s degree required for all adjunct positions; PhD or discipline-specific doctorate preferred.
- Expertise in the following undergraduate areas: Accounting, Math, English, Business, Organizational Dynamics, Human Development, Psychology, and Social Science.
- For MEd adjuncts: areas include Current Issues in Education, Advanced Teaching Methods, Teaching Diversity in Today's Classroom, Research Design, and Content Area Literacy.
- For MMOL adjuncts: upper level Leadership, Organizational Design, and Ethics.
- Recent K-12 teaching experience is a plus; preference for MEd and MAT adjuncts.
- Experience writing syllabi and selecting textbooks for MEd is a plus.
- Availability to teach one evening per week; ability to work in a Christ-centered university environment.
