About the Role Bushnell University is interviewing for an Adjunct Instructor pool in Writing. This is a part-time, per-class opportunity to teach writing to undergraduate and graduate students within the Arts & Sciences – Writing department. A Doctorate is preferred, but a Master's degree with significant teaching experience will be considered; candidates should be prepared to demonstrate a strong commitment to multiculturalism, diversity, and a vibrant, maturing Christian faith in both classroom and community life.
What You'll Do
- Teach writing courses to undergraduate and graduate students as assigned.
- Foster an inclusive classroom that reflects a commitment to multiculturalism, diversity, and Christian values.
- Maintain professional standards, confidentiality (FERPA), and effective communication with students and colleagues; align with Bushnell Theological Context for Community in interactions and teaching.
What We're Looking For
- Doctorate preferred; Master's degree with significant teaching experience considered.
- Experience teaching writing at undergraduate and/or graduate levels.
- Active engagement in a Christian congregation and alignment with Bushnell's Theological Context for Community statement.
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and professional ethics.
- Ability to work in a part-time, per-class capacity.
- Applicants must include a personal Statement of Faith addressing expression of faith in personal life, family life, community life, local church membership, and academic discipline.
Nice to Have
- Experience teaching at the university level in writing; demonstrated commitment to diversity.
- Prior involvement in graduate or undergraduate teaching across disciplines.
