Job title: Adjunct Instructor (Pool)
About the Role Bushnell University is maintaining an adjunct instructor pool across all academic departments. These are part-time, per-class positions; a Doctorate is preferred, but a Master’s degree with significant teaching experience will be considered. We welcome both graduate and undergraduate instructors who commit to multiculturalism, diversity, and a vibrant, maturing Christian faith. Applicants must include a Personal Statement of Faith addressing expression of faith in personal life, family life, community, church membership, and academic discipline.
What You'll Do
- Teach undergraduate and, where appropriate, graduate courses in assigned disciplines (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Communication, Exercise Science, Mathematics, Psychology, Statistics, Writing, English, Literature, Spanish, Criminal Justice) as part of Bushnell's adjunct pool.
- Maintain high standards of student learning, adhere to FERPA and confidentiality, and communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
- Collaborate with department colleagues and participate in the adjunct pool as needed.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the Bushnell Theological Context for Community Life and to a Christian educational environment.
What We're Looking For
- Doctorate preferred; Master’s degree with significant teaching experience in the field considered.
- Evidence of commitment to multiculturalism and diversity.
- Active, vibrant, maturing Christian faith; ability to articulate faith in a Personal Statement of Faith addressing personal life, family life, community life, church membership, and academic discipline.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with students, colleagues, and communities with tact and courtesy.
- Ability to teach across multiple disciplines as part of the adjunct pool and to adapt to course needs.
- Commitment to confidentiality, ethics, and FERPA guidelines.
Nice to Have
- Experience teaching at both graduate and undergraduate levels.
- Experience teaching in a faith-based university setting.
- Demonstrated experience working effectively in diverse, multicultural environments.
