About the Role Lamar Institute of Technology is seeking adjunct instructors to teach in Livingston, TX at the Polk County Education Center. This is not online; classes will be delivered onsite. Instructors must be qualified to teach in degree and certificate programs across disciplines such as Workforce, Medication Aide, HVAC, Welding, Real Estate, and Accounting. What You'll Do
- Teach courses at the Livingston, Texas Polk County Center as scheduled and actively engage with students
- Provide timely feedback and respond to student communications
- Maintain ethical and professional behavior
- Attend adjunct faculty meetings
- Assess courses at departmental and institutional levels
- Complete required training (Blackboard Online Instructor Certification and Title IX Training) and participate in professional development (TSUS and SHSU Faculty Development Trainings)
- Adhere to TSUS Rules and Regulations and State Colleges’ Policies and Procedures Manuals
- Other related duties, as assigned What We're Looking For
- Minimum Qualifications: An earned associate degree in the teaching discipline; OR licensure or certificate in the teaching discipline plus applicable years of relevant work experience
- Good time management skills
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher; experience teaching in higher education; related field and/or industry certifications; knowledge of teaching methodologies/pedagogical strategies Nice to Have
