About the Role Lamar Institute of Technology is seeking an Adjunct Instructor in the Business Technology (BSTC) department to provide instruction for courses within degree and certificate programs, including dual credit high school students. This is an exempt, part-time role with hours varying by course schedule and potential online delivery; flexible scheduling is available depending on course type and configuration. What You'll Do
- Teach courses as scheduled and actively engage students in the learning process
- Maintain ethical and professional behavior
- Attend adjunct faculty meetings
- Assess courses at departmental and institutional levels
- Complete required training, such as Blackboard Online Instructor Certification and Title IX Training
- Utilize LIT’s Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) and SHSU Faculty Online Development Training to continually hone and improve professional knowledge and teaching skills
- Maintain knowledge of and adherence to the policies and procedures contained in the TSUS and LIT Policies and Procedures Manual
- Other related duties as assigned What We're Looking For
- Minimum Qualifications: Appropriate degree per program instructor qualifications (e.g., Master’s for many programs; some technical programs may require an Associate’s); relevant work experience in the targeted program or related field; working knowledge of Microsoft Office; knowledge of teaching methodologies/pedagogical strategies; verbal and written communication and time management skills Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in related coursework
- Experience teaching in higher education
- Related field and/or industry certifications
