Job title: Adjunct Faculty – Understanding AI (Winter 2027)
About the Role The College for Creative Studies invites applications for adjunct faculty members to teach Understanding AI on Mondays from 12:45-3:30 PM during Winter 2027 on campus. The course explores what AI is, how it generates outputs, and how those outputs should be read, interpreted, and evaluated within ethical, legal, and social contexts. Teaching on campus in person is required; there is no remote work option.
What You'll Do
- Deliver in-person instruction for assigned course sections.
- Maintain scheduled office hours (minimum one hour per week per course).
- Evaluate and grade student work promptly and in accord with institutional timelines.
- Respond to student inquiries promptly.
- Develop and submit the course syllabus for departmental approval by deadlines.
- Use Canvas for course delivery and communication as required by the department and college.
- Handle administrative responsibilities attached to this work.
- Comply with institutional policies, including FERPA, academic integrity, and Title IX.
What We're Looking For
- Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours (normally required).
- College-level teaching experience.
- Experience with Canvas or a similar LMS.
- Experience teaching diverse student populations.
- Experience teaching Understanding AI or nearby topics at the college/university level (essential).
- Availability to teach on campus on Mondays 12:45-3:30 PM during Winter 2027.
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to CCS policies and commitments to on-campus, in-person instruction.
