Montreat College invites qualified adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate courses on campus in Montreat, North Carolina. These opportunities span a range of disciplines, with the greatest need in Physics, Cybersecurity, Art, Elementary Education, Biology, Exercise Science, Health, Business, English, Psychology, Sociology, Astronomy, Bible & Religion, Music, Woodwinds, Criminal Justice, History, and Spanish. The role supports a Christ-centered liberal arts education and requires the ability to integrate faith and the discipline in a thoughtful and compelling way.
What You'll Do
- Teach undergraduate courses on Montreat College campus in assigned disciplines.
- Integrate faith and the discipline in a compelling, thoughtful manner consistent with Montreat College's Mission, Vision, and Statement of Faith.
- Report to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and collaborate with academic leadership.
- Contribute to a faith-based learning community and support student learning and growth.
- Prepare and deliver course materials, assess student learning, and participate in the application process as relevant to hiring.
- Submit required application materials to the Office of the Provost: completed job application, CV, transcripts, Statement of Faith, Statement of Philosophy of Christian Higher Education, and three references.
What We're Looking For
- Education/Experience: A minimum of a master's degree or equivalent professional experience in the subject or a closely related field is required to teach undergraduate courses.
- Teaching experience at the college level is desirable.
- The successful candidate will affirm Montreat College's Mission, Vision, and Statement of Faith and demonstrate the ability to integrate faith and the discipline in a compelling, thoughtful manner.
- The position is offered on the Montreat campus and reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
