About the Role North Central College invites applications for an adjunct pool in the School of Business and Entrepreneurship. Adjunct faculty are appointed on a course-by-course basis; this posting is ongoing to develop a qualified pool of candidates who may be contacted to discuss teaching opportunities as programmatic needs arise during the academic year. Courses span Accounting, Business, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Human Resource Management, International Business, Management, Marketing, Operations and Supply Chain Management, and Leadership. Undergraduate courses are delivered primarily in-person across a 16-week semester (fall or spring) with a limited number of online options; graduate courses in the MBA program are delivered online asynchronous in 6 or 8 weeks.
What You'll Do
- Deliver course content and communicate clearly with students
- Contribute to the creation of assignments and other assessments
- Evaluate and grade student work
- Hold office hours to assist students
- Teach across multiple business disciplines based on programmatic needs
What We're Looking For
- A graduate degree in the teaching field (e.g., MBA or Master’s) and meet AACSB qualification requirements including recent work experience in the discipline or other professional engagement
- Preferred: college-level teaching experience or a doctoral degree
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence
- Ability to teach in-person and, where needed, online formats, and to work with a diverse student body
- Residency in one of the following states: AZ, CO, IL, IN, NY, NC, OR, PA, WI
Nice to Have
- Doctoral degree (PhD/DBA) in related field
- Additional relevant teaching experience in business disciplines
