Job title: Adjunct Faculty, Psychology
About the Role Stevenson University seeks an Adjunct Faculty member in Psychology to deliver course instruction within the Psychology program in the School of Humanities & Social Sciences. The position is part of a bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 500, with terms governed by a collective bargaining agreement. What You'll Do
- Engage in instructional activity totaling no more than 18 contact hours per academic year (August–May), including classroom, laboratory, and online/hybrid delivery, and prepare materials; confer with students; direct studies; review examinations and papers; evaluate projects; and provide accommodations for students with documented disabilities.
- Write syllabi; respond to emails promptly; grade coursework within feedback timelines; submit grades and reports on time; and alert appropriate university personnel to student problems.
- Complete required training and maintain collegial, professional conduct; adhere to School and University policies; uphold academic freedom.
- May involve teaching day, evening, online or hybrid classes; meet classes for the full class time during scheduled dates.
What We're Looking For
- Education/Experience: Master’s degree in Psychology; strong commitment to quality teaching; college teaching experience preferred; doctoral degree in Psychology strongly preferred.
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: knowledge of experimental design and data analysis, writing in psychology, introductory psychology, human development, psychopathology, behavioral approaches to change, social, cognitive, biological psychology, tests & measures, or forensics; ability to teach undergraduate psychology; ability to instruct diverse students; excellent interpersonal and cultural competencies; ability to create inclusive learning experiences; experience with inclusivity; ability to assess student performance; proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with educational assessment practices; evidence of integrity, excellence, learning, and community; experience with Blackboard or similar LMS; strong organizational, reasoning, problem-solving; excellent written and oral communication; time management and deadline adherence; ability to work with colleagues; ability to travel between campuses; willingness to teach evenings/weekends as needed.

Compensation & Benefits
- Anticipated pay: $1,191 - $1,389 per credit (USD). This adjunct role is paid per course credit; total compensation varies with courses scheduled.
