Job title: Adjunct Faculty Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Practitioner (PMHNP)
About the Role The University of Saint Francis seeks an Adjunct Faculty PMHNP to contribute to the DNP and Post-Graduate Certificate PMHNP tracks. This role involves developing and delivering core PMHNP content, coordinating with the Graduate Nursing Program Director, and ensuring alignment with student learning outcomes and accreditation standards. The position may be remote or on-site to support Saint Francis students and the community.
What You'll Do
- Serve as PMHNP content expert and work with the Graduate Nursing Program Director and faculty to develop core PMHNP content.
- Develop PMHNP course objectives, outlines, and content linked to DNP student learning outcomes and accreditation standards.
- Evaluate needs (library resources, simulation, textbooks, preceptors) and make recommendations.
- Teach courses consistent with catalog and content map; maintain required contact hours; meet scheduled times.
- Integrate evidence-based practice; collaborate for instructional improvement; submit reports promptly.
- Use appropriate teaching methodologies; communicate effectively; facilitate critical reflection and support student innovation.
- Evaluate student performance (clinical, laboratory, classroom); provide counseling and guidance; propose performance improvement plans.
- Maintain records documenting student progress (clinical evaluations, test scores, attendance).
- Duties may be adjusted at the Program Director's discretion.
What We're Looking For
- Education: PMHNP certification; graduation from an accredited institution with a PMHNP degree; doctoral preparation preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Current Indiana RN/APRN license or eligibility; current PMHNP certification.
- Experience: Two years of PMHNP clinical experience preferred; experience as faculty or clinical coordinator in PMHNP program preferred; formal instruction in curriculum, evaluation, and instruction preferred.
- Other requirements for clinical instruction: TB testing; BLS/ACLS/PALS; Hepatitis B immunization; other facility requirements.
- Knowledge & Skills: Expert PMHNP content knowledge; knowledge of PMHNP practice; educational principles for higher education; instructional techniques; strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication; ethical standards; ability to document and maintain records; ability to engage in evidence-based practice; ongoing professional development.
Nice to Have
- Doctorate preparation preferred; additional PMHNP experience; background in clinical instruction in PMHNP programs.
