The Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is pleased to invite applications for Adjunct Instructor/Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy. The Department of Philosophy at Hofstra occupies offices in Heger Hall and offers both a B.A. and B.S. in philosophy.

The Department of Philosophy seeks an Adjunct Instructor/Adjunct Assistant Professor to teach introductory courses in philosophy with emphases on theories of human nature or the meaning of life.

Teaching experience plus PhD or ABD preferred. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Teaching introductory course in philosophy with an emphasis on theories of human nature or the meaning of life
• Grading student work
• Maintaining office hours

Qualifications

• MA in Philosophy

• Preferred Quals Summary

• PhD in Philosophy or ABD

• Previous college level philosophy teaching experience

Salary/Salary Range $1,750-$2,050 per credit hour

Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
