About the Role The Department of Liberal Arts at Long Island University (LIU) Post is inviting applications for part-time adjunct faculty in English, History, Sociology, and Philosophy. Candidates should have expertise teaching introductory writing in English or survey-level courses in one or more of these disciplines. This position supports the undergraduate general education curriculum on the LIU Post campus. Start date: as soon as possible. Application deadline: October 14, 2026. What You'll Do
- Teach undergraduate courses in general education.
- Teach introductory writing in English or survey-level courses in English, History, Sociology, or Philosophy.
- Maintain high standards of teaching effectiveness and student engagement. What We're Looking For
- M.S. degree or Ph.D. in the areas of teaching interest.
- Ability to teach undergraduate courses in general education.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Commitment to excellence and effectiveness in teaching. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $1,000 - $1,350 per credit.
- This is a part-time adjunct faculty position.
