Job title: Adjunct Faculty, Nursing
About the Role Adjunct faculty in the School of Nursing & Health Professions: Nursing at Stevenson University will engage in teaching activities in accordance with the University’s faculty workload policies. This position is represented by SEIU Local 500 and governed by the terms of a Collective Bargaining Agreement currently under negotiation. This posting is for building an applicant pool; there is no guarantee of a future opening. Depending on assignment, teaching courses in the Entry into Practice Nursing Program in the applicant's area of expertise.
What You'll Do
- Engage in instructional activity totaling no more than 18 contact hours per academic year (August through May), including classroom, laboratory, or hybrid/online formats and preparation.
- Teach courses in your expertise area within the Entry into Practice Nursing Program; maintain subject matter competence; prepare teaching materials; confer with students; direct individual and group studies; evaluate examinations and papers; provide accommodations for students with documented disabilities.
- Develop syllabi; respond to emails promptly; grade coursework within a timeframe that allows for feedback; timely submission of mid-term and final grades; attendance verification; academic alerts; and other reports as requested; alert appropriate university personnel to student issues.
- Complete required professional development and maintain collegial, ethical conduct; adhere to School and University policies; participate in activities across day, evening, online, or hybrid classes as assigned; ensure classes meet scheduled times.
