Job title: Adjunct Faculty - MFTO Clinical Supervisor
About the Role Abilene Christian University is seeking an adjunct faculty member to serve as MFTO Clinical Supervisor. The role provides weekly group supervision for Internship courses (MFTO 591-598) and Internship Continuation (MFTO 617, 698, 692, 693), and collaborates with program faculty on planning, development, and implementation of the Internship portion of the curriculum. This position requires the employee to be a professing Christian and to be willing to support the Christian mission of ACU.
What You'll Do
- Provide weekly synchronous supervision sessions for the Internship courses (MFTO 591-598) and Internship Continuation (MFTO 617, 698, 692, 693), if required.
- Provide rich and timely feedback on student work and facilitate class size of approximately 8 students.
- Answer student inquiries, grade assignments, supervise case management skills, and support capstone tasks (Theory of Change Paper and Clinical Presentation).
- Enter final course grades by deadline; monitor student issues and policy violations; comply with ACU policies and CHHS guidelines.
- Collaborate with program director and faculty in planning, development, and implementation of the Internship curriculum; participate in program meetings and ongoing training.
- Maintain knowledge of field trends through continuing education and professional reading.
What We're Looking For
- Professional identity as a licensed marriage and family therapist (MFT).
- Master’s degree in MFT; preference for COAMFTE program graduates.
- Current and unencumbered MFT licensure and designation as an AAMFT-Approved Supervisor (for at least 5 years).
- Experience providing virtual supervision and instructional/online teaching experience.
- Computer literacy and proficient in APA style; ability to use online platforms and collaborate in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, confidentiality, and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively; reliable internet connection.
Nice to Have
- Training in providing virtual supervision; experience in an online academic setting.
- Knowledge of COAMFTE accreditation standards and processes.
- Prior experience in a university setting and with faculty development.
