Job title: Adjunct Faculty, Master’s in Teaching

About the Role Stevenson University Online's Master of Arts in Teaching program seeks adjunct faculty to deliver graduate-level instruction in the MAT curriculum and related educational coursework. The role involves online (and potentially hybrid) teaching in accordance with university workload policies and supporting diverse graduate students to develop professionally and academically.

What You'll Do

  • Teach courses in the Master’s in Teaching program within Stevenson University Online, adhering to faculty workload policies.
  • Prepare syllabi, develop and update course materials, and provide academic accommodations as needed.
  • Deliver online and/or hybrid instruction using a learning management system.
  • Evaluate student work, provide timely feedback, and submit mid-term and final grades on schedule.
  • Maintain subject-matter competence and engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Confer with students, direct individual and group studies, and support diverse learners to foster professional, intellectual, and social growth.
  • Communicate regularly with students, manage time effectively, and comply with university policies and reporting requirements.
  • Complete required training and participate in a collegial academic environment with professional and ethical conduct.
  • Be prepared for online or hybrid teaching assignments and for regular student communication.

What We're Looking For

  • Doctorate degree in education plus two years college teaching experience or an equivalent combination of education and secondary classroom experience; university-level and secondary school teaching experience preferred.
  • Expertise in a specific STEM subject area for a STEM-focused MAT degree program.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, lead small groups, and manage projects; fluency with information technologies and online resources.
  • Experience with a similar LMS; proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to work evenings and weekends as needed; ability to teach students of varying preparation and abilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusive pedagogy, cultural competency, and student-centered learning; ability to assess student performance and learning.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills; ability to work effectively with colleagues; integrity and professionalism.
  • Willingness to complete training as required and to adhere to university policies.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Anticipated compensation: $1,484 per credit (exact terms may vary by semester and assignment).
