Job title: Adjunct Faculty, Information Systems (Online)

About the Role Stevenson University seeks an adjunct faculty member to teach online courses in the BS in Computer Information Systems and MS in Digital Transformation and Innovation programs within the Information Systems Department. The role supports high-quality online instruction and course development, while aligning with the university's workload policies and the SEIU Local 500 collective bargaining agreement. This posting is for applicant pool and does not guarantee an open position at this time.

What You'll Do

  • Teach online courses in the BS in Computer Information Systems and MS in Digital Transformation and Innovation programs, in accordance with workload policies, with a maximum of 18 contact hours per academic year and no more than 9 contact hours in a single semester.
  • Prepare and maintain course materials, confer with students, direct individual and group studies, and assess written work.
  • Grade coursework and provide timely feedback; submit mid-term and final grades as requested; maintain attendance verification and other reports; and communicate with students and university personnel as needed.
  • Develop syllabi, participate in ongoing professional development, and adhere to university and program policies; support inclusive pedagogy and student success.
  • Be available for teaching day, evening, online, or hybrid assignments as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • Master’s degree in Information Systems, Technology Management, or a related field; industry experience and a demonstrated commitment to quality teaching.
  • Preferred: College-level teaching experience, IS-related professional certifications, and a doctorate in Information Systems, Technology Management, or a related field.
  • Knowledge/Skills: Industry knowledge in information systems and digital transformation; ability to develop and teach online courses in programming/software development, database design, network administration, cloud computing, or related areas; ability to teach students of varying preparation; strong interpersonal and communication skills; inclusive pedagogy; ability to assess student performance; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with educational assessment practices; experience with Blackboard or another LMS; strong organizational, reasoning, and problem-solving skills; ability to work evenings/weekends as needed.

  • Additional preferred qualifications such as college-level teaching experience, IS-related professional certifications, or a doctorate degree in a related field (if not already listed as required).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Anticipated salary: $1,191 to $1,484 per credit/contact hour (USD), depending on course level and enrollment.
