Job title: Adjunct Faculty, Forensic Science
About the Role Adjunct faculty at Stevenson University Online will engage in teaching activities in accordance with the University’s faculty workload policies, focusing on the Forensic Science Program. This part-time role involves delivering courses online and maintaining subject matter competence.
What You'll Do
- Teach courses in the Forensic Science Program through Stevenson University Online.
- Maintain course materials, prepare teaching materials, and evaluate student work; provide academic accommodations as needed.
- Develop syllabi, manage grading timelines, and provide timely feedback to students; communicate with students and advisors.
- Participate in professional development and adhere to university policies; collaborate with faculty and staff.
- May require travel between campuses as needed to support program operations.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Forensic Science or related field; minimum of three years’ experience in forensic science analysis in a reputable crime laboratory or equivalent combination of education and experience; strong commitment to quality teaching.
- Previous college-level teaching experience preferred.
- Knowledge of crime scene and forensic analysis equipment and practices.
- Demonstrated ability to teach in graduate asynchronous online courses; ability to instruct students of varying preparation and abilities; inclusive pedagogy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with Blackboard or similar LMS.
- Excellent written and oral communication; strong interpersonal and cultural competency skills; ability to work with diverse constituencies.
- Time management, problem-solving abilities, and ability to work with colleagues; ability to travel between campuses; availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Nice to Have
- Previous college-level teaching experience is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: Anticipated to be $1,191-$1,484 per credit/contact hour (depending upon course level & minimum enrollment).
