About the Role Southern Adventist University's Department of English seeks qualified adjunct faculty to teach First Year Writing courses, ENGL 101 and ENGL 102. The role emphasizes effective instruction, timely assessment, and compassionate, Christ-centered mentoring of students. This is a part-time, per-course appointment with no benefits.
What You'll Do
- Instruct students in ENGL 101 and ENGL 102 with clear objectives and outcomes.
- Grade assignments, assess progress, and maintain required records per university guidelines.
- Provide timely communication with students and conferencing to support learning.
- Use strong organizational and time management skills to deliver well-prepared classes.
- Mentor students with a Christlike spirit academically and spiritually.
What We're Looking For
- Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in English, Writing, or related discipline.
- Teaching experience preferred; dedication, dependability, and a Christian orientation toward student support.
- Ability to manage workloads, meet deadlines, and communicate clearly.
Nice to Have
- Teaching experience in higher education and comfort working within a Christian educational environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to student development and spiritual growth.
Compensation & Benefits
