About the Role The University of Cincinnati College of Law seeks lawyers and judges to teach an Employee Benefits course to students on a part-time basis during Spring 2027 or Fall 2028. The course will cover ERISA-regulated and non-ERISA benefits and emphasize practical, real-world applications; adjuncts bring a wealth of experience to our students. What You'll Do
- Teach an Employee Benefits course to law students on a part-time basis for Spring 2027 or Fall 2028.
- Design and deliver course content covering pension and welfare benefit plans, fiduciary duties, disclosure and reporting requirements, enforcement, ERISA preemption, litigation, and the interaction of federal regulation with employment practices and health/retirement benefits.
- Assess student work and provide timely feedback.
- Contribute to curriculum enrichment by applying practical experience and working with other adjunct faculty to present diverse pedagogical approaches. What We're Looking For
- Lawyers and judges with expertise in employee benefits, ERISA, and related areas.
- Ability to teach and communicate complex legal concepts clearly; strong written and oral communication skills.
- Prior adjunct teaching experience or guest lecturing preferred.
- Availability to teach in Spring 2027 or Fall 2028 and to participate as part-time adjunct faculty. Nice to Have
- Prior adjunct teaching experience; recognized practitioners in the region with practical experience.
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, pension and welfare benefit plans, and federal regulation as it applies to employment practices. Compensation & Benefits
