Description

  • Stillman College invites applications for an Adjunct Faculty position to teach in the Cybersecurity concentration within the Business Administration degree program. The position is located in the Department of Computational and Information Sciences. The College seeks a knowledgeable and student-centered educator who can provide high-quality instruction in Computer Information Technology (CIT) courses that support the Cybersecurity concentration.

  • The adjunct faculty member will teach undergraduate students enrolled in the Business Administration degree program who have selected Cybersecurity as their concentration. The successful candidate must be qualified to teach at least three CIT courses in the concentration. Preference will be given to candidates whose academic preparation and professional experience enable them to teach across the full CIT course sequence. Course assignments will be based on departmental needs, enrollment, faculty expertise, and the academic schedule.

  • Primary Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate CIT courses for Business Administration students who have selected Cybersecurity as their concentration, using effective, current, and student-centered instructional practices.

  • Develop and deliver course content aligned with approved catalog descriptions, program learning outcomes, and departmental expectations.

  • Use lectures, demonstrations, laboratories, case studies, simulations, and hands-on cybersecurity exercises to connect theory with professional practice.

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of attendance, grades, assignments, assessments, and student progress.

  • Use the College’s learning management system and appropriate instructional technologies to communicate with students, distribute course materials, and support learning.

  • Provide timely feedback, academic support, and appropriate mentoring to students from diverse backgrounds and levels of preparation.

  • Coordinate with program faculty and academic leadership on course consistency, curriculum improvement, assessment activities, and student success initiatives.

  • Maintain professional currency in cybersecurity, information technology, emerging threats, tools, standards, and industry practices.

  • Participate in departmental or College meetings, training, and other activities appropriate to an adjunct faculty appointment.

  • Contribute to a professional, inclusive, ethical, and supportive academic environment consistent with the mission of Stillman College.

  • CIT Courses in the Cybersecurity Concentration

  • Applicants should be prepared to teach a minimum of three of the CIT courses supporting the Cybersecurity concentration in the Business Administration degree program. Candidates qualified to teach the full sequence are especially encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or another closely related field from an accredited institution.

  • Academic preparation and/or professional expertise sufficient to teach at least three CIT courses in the Cybersecurity concentration of the Business Administration degree program.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices relevant to the assigned course areas.

  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to teach and support undergraduate students with varied backgrounds and levels of technical experience.

  • Ability to use instructional technology and a learning management system effectively.

  • Commitment to high-quality teaching, student success, academic integrity, and an inclusive learning environment.

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or other earned doctorate in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related field.

  • Demonstrated ability to teach across the full CIT course sequence supporting the Cybersecurity concentration.

  • Prior college-level teaching experience in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, or a related discipline.

  • Relevant professional experience in areas such as network security, threat intelligence, application security, data or cloud security, security operations, incident response, or related cybersecurity functions.

  • Current or recent industry certifications in cybersecurity, networking, cloud, information assurance, or related areas.

  • Experience designing and facilitating hands-on laboratories, virtual environments, simulations, or other applied cybersecurity learning activities.

  • Background Investigation Statement
