About this role

About the Role Nelson University seeks undergraduate and graduate adjunct faculty in business disciplines including Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Finance, General Business, Healthcare Administration, Law, Management, Marketing and Sports Management. Faculty are expected to integrate biblical integration and align with Assemblies of God doctrine while supporting students’ spiritual, academic, professional, and cross-cultural development. What You'll Do

  • Teach courses as assigned by the Dean for both undergraduate and graduate levels; may involve on-campus and distance education.
  • Courses may be scheduled during day or night hours, or Saturdays.
  • Prepare syllabi in accordance with the institutional model, initiate timely textbook selection, oversee quality educational experiences, evaluate student performance via the learning management system, and submit final grades per the posted schedule.
  • Provide 30 minutes of availability per week per course for student consultations.
  • Be issued a copy of the University’s Institutional Policy Manual and familiarize yourself with University policies.
  • Wear professional attire during class and begin and end each class on time.
  • Carry out instructional and spiritual formation activities with students and staff per University policies.
  • Attend department meetings (invited but not required) and, where applicable, Faculty In-Service meetings; participate in commencement as encouraged.
  • Connect and communicate regularly with Department Chairs and other leadership as appropriate. What We're Looking For
  • Graduate Adjunct Faculty: Earned Doctorate in business from a regionally accredited university preferred; ABD status and ability to complete the terminal degree within two years will be considered.
  • Undergraduate Adjunct Faculty: Minimum of a Master’s degree in a business field with at least 18 graduate hours in Accounting, Business Administration, Business Sport Management, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Management, or Marketing.
  • Proven leadership abilities; marketplace experience.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of teaching in both on-campus and online delivery formats.
  • Faith, service and lifestyle that meets University expectations; personal faith consistent with Nelson University’s evangelical Christian mission; Assemblies of God affiliation preferred.
  • Academic qualifications commensurate with accreditation criteria; established teaching abilities and strong written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of subject area.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with faculty, staff, administration, and students; adaptability to change and innovation.
  • Documented professional experience; ability to engage students from diverse backgrounds; commitment to collaboration and program development.
  • Faculty members report to the Department Chair, College Dean, any local Administrative Dean when serving at an Extension Site, and the Provost for Academics. Compensation & Benefits
  • Compensation is determined according to established pay scales and is based on credentials and teaching assignments.
