Job title: Adjunct Faculty - BS/MS Social Work
About the Role Abilene Christian University seeks an adjunct faculty member to deliver high-quality online instruction for the BS/MS Social Work program. The role supports online students, provides feedback, and collaborates with lead faculty and program leadership to advance curriculum and student success.
What You'll Do
- Provide high quality instruction, direction and support for students in the online classroom environment.
- Provide in-depth and timely feedback on student work, and respond to inquiries regarding course material or academic matters.
- Conduct periodic synchronous interaction sessions as required by the course.
- Facilitate and grade assignments timely; enter final course grades after consultation with lead faculty/program director by deadlines.
- Alert lead faculty/program director to student issues (performance or policy violations such as plagiarism).
- Comply with university policies and program procedures; participate in planning and development of curriculum.
- Attend faculty trainings, provide credentialing/records updates, and participate in meetings as able.
- Provide program improvement feedback and engage in professional development.
What We're Looking For
- Master's degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited or internationally-recognized program.
- At least two years of post-MSSW practice experience for teaching practice courses; licensure highly preferred.
- Practice or professional experience in the course content; ability to teach across the curriculum; online teaching experience preferred.
- Proficiency in APA style; computer proficiency with software and internet applications.
- Strong written and oral communication; collaborative yet able to work independently; strong organizational and project management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
- Quick learner of new software; willingness to receive training or mentoring; good judgment and discretion in interactions.
Nice to Have
- Online teaching experience preferred.
- Ability to teach across the curriculum is expected.
