Job title: Adjunct Faculty, Biomedical Engineering
About the Role Adjunct Faculty in the Biomedical Engineering Program at Stevenson University supports teaching activities aligned with the University’s workload policies. This pool is for ongoing interest in adjunct opportunities; actual openings are contingent on course offerings and staffing needs.
What You'll Do
- Teach courses in the Biomedical Engineering Program as assigned, in-class, laboratory, hybrid, or online formats, in accordance with the University’s workload policies.
- Engage in instructional activities totaling no more than 18 contact hours per academic year (August through May), with no more than 9 contact hours taught in an individual semester.
- Prepare syllabi and teaching materials, confer with students, direct individual and group studies, and evaluate examinations and projects.
- Provide academic accommodations for students with documented disabilities; maintain records and submit mid-term and final grades on time.
- Respond to student feedback, participate in professional development, and collaborate with colleagues to support teaching and program goals.
- Demonstrate collegiality, professional and ethical conduct, and adhere to all faculty and program policies; exercise academic freedom as outlined by Stevenson University.
- Teaching assignments may require day, evening, online, or hybrid classes and may involve travel between campuses as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or related Engineering field.
- At least 3 years of college-level teaching experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of Biomedical Engineering topics and/or general engineering coursework.
- Demonstrated teaching ability in Engineering; ability to teach students with varying preparation and abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with Blackboard or a similar LMS.
- Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal and cultural competency; ability to work with diverse student populations and colleagues; time management and organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel between campuses and work evenings/weekends as needed.

Compensation & Benefits
- Anticipated to be $1,191-$1,389 per credit/contact hour (subject to minimum enrollment).
- Salary is paid hourly; exact schedule may vary based on courses offered.
