About the Role Adjunct faculty in the Accounting program at Stevenson University will teach on-site courses in the Brown School of Business and Leadership in accordance with the University’s workload policies. The position supports student learning by delivering high-quality instruction in accounting subjects and maintaining current professional knowledge.
What You'll Do
- Engage in instructional activity totaling no more than 18 contact hours per academic year (August through May), with no more than 9 contact hours taught in an individual semester.
- Teach in classroom, laboratory, or hybrid/online formats; prepare teaching materials; confer with students; direct individual and group studies; review examinations and papers; evaluate projects; and provide academic accommodations as needed.
- Develop syllabi, respond to emails promptly, grade course work within deadlines, submit mid-term and final grades, attendance verification, academic alerts, and other reports as requested; alert appropriate university personnel to student problems as needed.
- Complete training or professional development as required by the University; uphold collegiality, professionalism, and ethical conduct; follow School and University policies; exercise academic freedom as applicable; teach day, evening, online, or hybrid classes; meet full class times as scheduled.
What We're Looking For
- Master’s degree in Accounting or related field with an active CPA license, a strong commitment to quality teaching, and college-level teaching experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge/experience in Financial and Managerial Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Governmental and Not-for-Profit Accounting, Auditing, Individual Taxation, Corporate and Partnership Taxation.
- Ability to instruct students of varying preparation and abilities; excellent interpersonal and cultural competency skills; ability to communicate professionally with diverse constituencies; inclusive pedagogy; ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds and practice inclusive pedagogy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with Blackboard or a similar LMS; ability to travel between campuses; ability to work evenings and weekends; strong written and oral communication skills; time management and organizational skills; ability to work effectively with colleagues.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: Anticipated to be $1,191-$1,389 per credit/contact hour (USD).
- Payroll on a monthly basis; position is exempt under FLSA; no additional benefits information provided in posting.
