About the Role Schreiner University’s Department of Chemistry seeks a qualified part-time Adjunct Instructor to teach Introductory Chemistry and/or General Chemistry I and II lectures. The role involves delivering course content and assessing student learning, with potential online instruction based on prior experience.
What You'll Do
- Teaches up to 2 chemistry lectures (1 lecture = 3-hour load) in Fall or Spring (15 weeks), with the option of 2 lectures during summer session (5 weeks).
- Deliver Introductory Chemistry or General Chemistry I & II content and assess student learning.
- Facilitate online modalities, if applicable.
- Collaborate with Chemistry faculty to maintain a high-quality program.
- Adhere to university safety rules and participate in required meetings.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Environmental Health, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Relevant teaching experience in Introductory Chemistry or General Chemistry I/II; ability to teach in-person and online formats.
- Valid Texas driver’s license and good driving record (and required insurance).
- Strong communication, organizational and teamwork skills.
- Preference given to candidates with a Master’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry or chemical engineering; bachelor’s degrees with undergraduate General Chemistry I and II coursework will be considered.
Nice to Have
- Online teaching experience or prior experience delivering courses online.
