Job title: Adjunct Architecture & Design Faculty (Online)
About the Role Liberty University seeks adjunct architectural educators to teach and develop courses in the Architecture & Design Online Program toward NAAB accreditation. Instructors will deliver instruction that aligns with LU’s Christian mission, mentor students, and contribute to innovative course development within a biblically informed worldview.
What You'll Do
- Teach subject material according to the approved curriculum and schedule to promote student learning and outcomes.
- Mentor students in academics, professionalism, and behaviors; guide achievement of course objectives.
- Provide regular assessment of student work with timely feedback and revision strategies.
- Maintain and report grades and attendance per university policies.
- Participate in retention initiatives and support at-risk students.
- Maintain course activity standards and communication with Instructional Mentor and students.
- Develop and update courses toward NAAB accreditation goals; collaborate with the Program Director.
- Adhere to Liberty University policies and the Student Honor Code; represent the University professionally.
- Work effectively as part of a team and embody the University’s Christian mission.
What We're Looking For
- Required Qualifications: Master of Architecture (M. Arch) or a terminal degree in Architecture from an NAAB-accredited institution; demonstrated potential for effective teaching, professional expertise, scholarly activity, public communication, and collegiality.
- Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in Architecture or a closely related field (or ABD within one year); professional experience and licensure for teaching upper-level courses; prior teaching and scholarly work in disciplinary areas; ability to demonstrate a personal faith commitment to Liberty University’s evangelical mission; familiarity with collaborative and online learning techniques and student-centered instruction; strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience teaching online and design studios; strong portfolio of scholarly work or professional practice.
- ABD or Ph.D. in architecture (as listed among preferred qualifications).
- Demonstrated commitment to faith-based education and mission alignment.
