About the Role Abilene Christian University seeks qualified adjunct instructors in the Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Department to support instructional needs across a range of agriculture-related disciplines. This position involves teaching undergraduate courses in online or in-person formats, depending on departmental needs.
What You'll Do
- Teach assigned course or courses in agriculture and related subject areas in online or in-person formats as required by departmental needs.
- Develop a comprehensive course syllabus for each section that aligns with departmental standards and institutional policies.
- Provide academic guidance through scheduled office hours or other contact methods and respond to student inquiries in a timely manner.
- Design and administer exams, quizzes, and other assessments in coordination with department faculty.
- Maintain accurate records and submit final grades by established deadlines.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student success.
What We're Looking For
- Master’s degree or higher in Agriculture or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in an area of study (e.g., wildlife, range management, agronomy, animal science, agricultural business, environmental science, etc.).
- Ability to teach effectively in either or both online and in-person learning environments.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Institutional expectations: candidates should demonstrate a collegial spirit and willingness to contribute positively to the academic community.
Nice to Have
- Prior teaching experience at the college or university level.
- Familiarity with learning management systems and online teaching tools.
Compensation & Benefits
- This position is paid by credit hour. Adjunct appointments are part-time and course-based. Applications will be reviewed as departmental needs arise.
