About the Role The Activities Aide at Brendan House supports resident well-being by planning and delivering meaningful activities that promote connection, purpose, and quality of life. You’ll work with the care team to ensure activities are inclusive and resident-centered, tailored to individual needs and interests.
What You'll Do
- Plan and support activities reflecting residents' interests, abilities, and personal histories
- Complete assessments related to physical abilities, cognitive function, and personal interests
- Design and facilitate engaging activities for individuals and groups with varying abilities
- Support personalized activity programs to promote participation and enjoyment
- Complete Activity Department sections of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) and Care Area Assessments (CAAs)
- Document assessments and progress notes accurately and on schedule
- Collaborate with nursing and other departments to ensure activities run smoothly
- Assist with the Volunteer Program as directed
- Maintain consistent, reliable attendance as scheduled
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting or related field (preferred)
- CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A team-focused mindset with the ability to work independently when needed
- Comfort using computers, including Microsoft Office, and learning new systems
- Understanding of confidentiality laws, including HIPAA
- Commitment to professionalism, integrity, kindness, and empathy
- Most importantly, you bring a genuine desire to make a positive impact in the lives of others
Nice to Have
- Experience with Point Click Care or similar software (preferred)
