Job title: Acoustical Testing Technician (Construction)
Location: Buffalo, NY -- fully onsite
Length: 3 month contract
Pay rate: 25/hr. on W2 basis
Role Overview
This position is primarily focused on the acoustical (sound) testing of building materials. The role involves constructing and preparing test assemblies, conducting sound transmission tests, and analyzing the results. This is a hands-on role within a department that conducts full-scale physical property testing, including structural and fire testing, on various building assemblies.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct acoustical (sound) tests on flooring materials to measure sound transmission through different assemblies.

Construct full-scale test assemblies, such as walls and ceilings, using materials like metal studs.

Prepare assemblies for testing, ensuring they meet specified standards.

Support other physical property testing activities, including fire and structural tests, as needed.

Required Qualifications

Experience installing and/or working with various flooring types, including tile and hardwood.

Experience in commercial construction is preferred, as is carpentry.

Familiarity with metal stud framing is also a big plus.
