Accounts Receivable Clerk
We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Clerk to support financial operations for a wood and furniture manufacturing organization in Kernersville, North Carolina. This is a Contract position focused on maintaining accurate receivables records, applying incoming payments, and strengthening commercial collection efforts. The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage billing and cash activity in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Process customer invoices and maintain accurate accounts receivable records to support timely payment activity.
- Apply incoming cash receipts to the appropriate customer accounts and investigate discrepancies as needed.
- Follow up with commercial customers regarding past-due balances and work to resolve outstanding payment issues professionally.
- Monitor aging reports, identify delinquent accounts, and escalate concerns when collection risks increase.
- Support billing operations by reviewing account details, validating charges, and helping correct invoice-related issues.
- Reconcile payment activity against open balances to ensure account accuracy and reduce unapplied cash.
- Communicate with internal teams and external customers to resolve questions related to invoices, payments, and account status.
Requirements
- Experience handling accounts receivable processes in a business environment.
- Background in commercial collections with the ability to manage customer communications effectively.
- Working knowledge of cash application procedures and daily cash posting activities.
- Familiarity with billing functions, invoice review, and account reconciliation.
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail in financial recordkeeping.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently in a Contract role.
