Accounts Payable Specialist
We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a close-knit corporate team in Marrero, Louisiana. This position supports multiple companies and plays an important role in keeping invoice processing, payment activity, and account records accurate and up to date. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing a steady weekly invoice volume, working with accounting entries across related entities, and contributing in a fast-growing environment with opportunities for long-term development.
Responsibilities
- Process approximately 75 to 150 invoices each week with a high level of accuracy and timeliness.
- Review, classify, and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system using correct general ledger coding.
- Prepare and support check run activities to ensure vendors are paid according to established schedules.
- Maintain accounts payable records for multiple companies while keeping documentation organized and current.
- Assist with intercompany journal entries and related accounting support across affiliated entities.
- Investigate invoice discrepancies and work with internal contacts or vendors to resolve payment issues promptly.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and help ensure financial data is complete and accurate.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvement efforts as the organization continues to expand.
Qualifications

3+ years in accounting or related field

Strong understanding of General Ledger system and Accounts Payable processing

Strong organizational, analytical and recording skills

Detail oriented

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Sage exposure is a plus

Prior experience in accounts payable, invoice entry, or a similar accounting support position.

Strong understanding of invoice coding, payment processing, and accounts payable workflows.

Experience handling check runs and maintaining accurate vendor payment records.

Ability to manage responsibilities across multiple entities in a detail-focused environment.

Familiarity with Sage X3 or comparable accounting software.

Comfort preparing or supporting journal entries, including intercompany transactions.

Solid organizational skills and the ability to keep pace with a consistent weekly workload.
