Robert Half is looking for a high-volume Accounts Payable Lead to oversee day-to-day payables operations for a construction-focused organization in Roseburg, Oregon. This opportunity offers hybrid remote flexibility with three days remote. The AP Lead is responsible for maintaining accurate invoice processing, supporting timely vendor payments, and helping strengthen financial controls across the accounts payable function. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with full-cycle AP work in a high-volume environment, strong attention to detail, and confidence working across software platforms in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily accounts payable activities, ensuring invoices are reviewed, coded correctly, and processed in accordance with company procedures.

• Manage the full payment cycle from invoice receipt through final disbursement, including check runs and electronic payments such as ACH transactions.

• Verify supporting documentation, resolve discrepancies with vendors or internal teams, and maintain accurate payment records.

• Lead prioritization of outgoing payments to meet deadlines while supporting cash flow planning and operational needs.

• Oversee invoice entry and account coding.

• Monitor AP workflows for accuracy, compliance, and efficiency, identifying opportunities to improve processes and reduce errors.

• Support construction accounting activities by tracking vendor billing details and ensuring proper allocation of project-related expenses.

• Assist with reconciliations, reporting, and audit preparation by maintaining organized files and dependable accounts payable documentation.

• Demonstrated experience leading or supervising accounts payable operations, preferably in a construction or contractor environment.

• Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice coding, payment processing, check runs, and ACH transactions.

• Ability to review financial information carefully, identify inconsistencies, and resolve issues with a high level of accuracy.

• Familiarity with construction accounting practices and expense allocation across jobs, vendors, or cost categories.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and a steady volume of transactions.

• Effective communication skills for coordinating with vendors, project teams, and internal accounting staff.
