Job title: Accounts Payable Analyst
About the Role Accounts Payable Analyst contributes to the overall success of the Accounts Payable operation for ScotiaGBS across Canada and other jurisdictions, ensuring day-to-day activities are executed in support of the team’s objectives. This role supports processing and archiving of invoices and expenses while maintaining strong controls, regulatory compliance, and an inclusive, high-performing environment.
What You'll Do
- Manage day-to-day AP operations for the unit, including receiving, sorting, logging, scanning, and distributing incoming mail, invoices and expenses.
- Process standard transactions in the PeopleSoft system, verify approvals, and ensure processing complies with governing regulations and internal policies.
- Perform accurate analysis to assign the proper GL accounts, cost centers, transits and tax applicability based on expense type.
- Create and archive daily accounting packages and maintain a log for easy retrieval; ensure timely distribution of invoices and expenses according to guidelines.
- Reject and escalate invoices/expenses to the Canada POC as required; identify and contribute to process improvement opportunities; keep Desktop Training Procedures (DTP) up to date.
- Maintain knowledge of source financial systems and understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and controls apply to day-to-day activities, including AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

What We're Looking For
- Experience in accounts payable operations and day-to-day AP processing.
- Proficiency with PeopleSoft or similar ERP systems and ability to navigate financial modules.
- Strong ability to analyze transactions to determine proper GL accounts, cost centers, transits, and tax applicability.
- Attention to detail in filing, archiving, and maintaining accounting packages; ability to work under deadlines and maintain documentation.
- Aptitude for process improvement, risk-awareness, and adherence to policies and controls.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills; alignment with Scotiabank’s values and conduct.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and risk considerations relevant to AP activities (AML/ATF/sanctions).
