Accounting Project Lead

We are looking for an ERP Project Manager to support enterprise financial systems initiatives in Louisville, Kentucky. This long-term contract opportunity is ideal for someone who is detail oriented and can coordinate project activities, strengthen financial data accuracy, and guide stakeholders through complex ERP-related work. The role will focus on improving reporting reliability, maintaining strong controls, and helping ensure accounting records and system data remain aligned.

Responsibilities

  • Lead ERP project activities from planning through execution, keeping timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations on track.
  • Oversee financial system processes to help maintain accurate general ledger activity and dependable accounting records.
  • Coordinate data validation efforts, including integrity checks and testing, to confirm system outputs are complete and reliable.
  • Support preparation and review of trial balance information to ensure consistency between source data and financial reports.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to monitor quality standards and resolve issues affecting financial data or system performance.
  • Manage the accuracy of vendor and customer master data files so operational and accounting transactions are properly supported.
  • Facilitate communication among business users, accounting teams, and technical partners to drive project progress and issue resolution.
  • Document project updates, risks, and action plans while ensuring key milestones are clearly communicated to leadership.

Requirements

  • Experience managing ERP or financial systems projects in a business-critical environment.

  • Strong understanding of general ledger processes, trial balance preparation, and core accounting data structures.

  • Hands-on knowledge of financial data integrity testing and quality control practices.

  • Familiarity with Sage accounting software or similar enterprise finance platforms.

  • Ability to work with vendor records, customer information files, and other master data essential to system accuracy.

  • Proven skill in organizing multiple workstreams, prioritizing tasks, and meeting long-range project objectives.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder coordination abilities across finance, operations, and technical teams.
