Accounting/Ops Specialist

A local financial institution is seeking an Accounting & Operations Specialist to handle daily and monthly reconciliations, accounts payable, payroll, and maintenance of prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and the securities portfolio. This position also supports audits, prepares monthly board reports and regulatory filings, and provides backup for bookkeeping operations such as account settlements, wires, ACH transactions, and payment exceptions. The ideal candidate has an associate degree in accounting, at least one year of accounting or bookkeeping experience, and two years of customer service experience; experience in a financial institution is preferred. Accuracy, organization, discretion, flexibility, and strong communication skills are essential.

• Associate degree in Accounting or a closely related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a similar finance support role.
• Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing support, and account reconciliation processes.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and accuracy.
• Well-organized and adaptable, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a deadline-driven setting.
• Previous experience within a bank, credit union, or other financial institution is preferred.
