Accounting Manager/Supervisor

Robert Half is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager for our client with a focus on inventory, fixed assets, and lease-related assets. This position is central to maintaining accurate financial reporting across complex balance sheet areas while supporting a disciplined close process, strong internal controls, and audit preparedness. The role also works closely with operations, supply chain, financial planning, and external auditors to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability across accounting workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting oversight for inventory from initial recording through valuation adjustments, reserve analysis, and period-end reporting.

• Direct reconciliation activities for inventory, fixed assets, and lease balances, ensuring discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly.

• Manage accounting treatment for asset additions, depreciation, disposals, impairments, transfers, and construction-related capital spending.

• Review journal entries and supporting schedules related to shrinkage, obsolescence, write-offs, and other non-routine balance sheet activity.

• Partner with Supply Chain, Operations, and FP&A to strengthen cutoff accuracy, track asset movements, and support capital planning.

• Oversee lease accounting by reviewing amortization schedules, liability activity, modifications, and other changes requiring technical assessment.

• Coordinate monthly close deliverables for assigned areas, maintaining complete documentation and consistent review procedures.

• Establish and monitor internal controls that support compliance, audit readiness, and reliable financial reporting.

• Supervise offshore accounting resources by assigning work, reviewing output, and coaching team members to improve consistency and quality.

• Identify opportunities to streamline manual accounting processes through automation, technology, and continuous improvement practices.

• 5+ years of accounting experience, including responsibility for month-end close and balance sheet oversight.

• Background in general ledger activity, journal entry review, and account reconciliation within a corporate accounting environment.

• Experience supporting accounting for inventory, fixed assets, leases, or other complex balance sheet areas.

• Knowledge of internal controls, audit support, and documentation standards needed for compliance-focused accounting operations.

• Ability to work cross-functionally with operational, supply chain, and finance partners to resolve accounting issues effectively.
