We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to lead core accounting operations and support accurate, timely financial reporting for the organization in the western suburbs. This position plays a key role in overseeing month-end activities, maintaining financial records, and supporting annual audit and compliance needs. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to guide day-to-day accounting activities while partnering with finance leadership. Responsibilities

• Lead month-end accounting activities by recording journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and assembling financial statements and supporting schedules.

• Partner with finance leadership during year-end close and external audit preparation by organizing documentation, validating account activity, and assisting with required reporting.

• Complete state sales tax filings accurately and on schedule while maintaining supporting records for compliance purposes.

• Examine job costing, closed-job reporting, and inventory-related records to identify discrepancies and implement necessary corrections.

• Evaluate and authorize credit adjustments and rebill requests to ensure transactions are properly supported and recorded.

• Manage fixed asset records by tracking acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation updates in a timely manner.

• Oversee payroll administration for multiple company locations, including processing submissions, commissions, garnishments, child support deductions, and related reporting through Paycom.

• Contribute to annual benefits and insurance renewal activities by helping gather information and support administrative follow-through.

• Provide direction, coverage, and day-to-day support for billing and credit/collections team members to help balance priorities and maintain workflow continuity.

• 5+ years of accounting experience, including responsibility for month-end close activities and financial reporting.

• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

• Experience supporting year-end close, audit preparation, and related financial schedules.

• Familiarity with payroll processing for multi-location operations, including commissions and statutory deductions.

• Experience preparing and filing sales tax returns accurately and on time.

• Proficiency with Paycom and comfort working within accounting and payroll systems.

• Ability to review detailed financial data, identify errors, and make accurate corrections.

• Proven ability to coordinate workloads and provide guidance to accounting support staff.
