About this role
Job title: Accounting Manager
About us
Traditional banking has never really given you control over your financial life. Satispay exists to change that: to empower people through finance.
That means making financial services easy and accessible for over 6.5M users. We started with payments, then benefits, investing, cards... and we’re not done. Not even close. We follow the same logic every time: find a real problem, solve it properly, then look for the next one. The destination? To build the most loved financial platform in the world.
If you own outcomes rather than tasks, stay close to what users need, and refuse to wait for someone else to fix what's broken — you'll find people here who work exactly in the same way. And together, you'll build something worth being proud of.
What you'll be doing
As our Accounting Manager, reporting directly to the Head of Consolidation and Financial Reporting, you'll own the day-to-day execution and oversight of all operational accounting activities across our group entities, ensuring financial rigor and balance sheet integrity as we scale.
Here's what that looks like in practice:
-
Operational Accounting & Closing Management - Lead the end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual closing cycles under Italian and Luxembourg GAAP, maintaining complete General Ledger and subledger accuracy while overseeing bank reconciliations and Capex accounting.
-
Statutory Compliance & Audit Readiness - Coordinate the preparation of statutory financial statements across entities in Italy and Luxembourg, manage direct/indirect tax compliance workflows (VAT, CIT accruals, withholding taxes) partnering with the group Head of Tax, and act as the main operational interface for external auditors.
-
Support to Group Reporting & IAS/IFRS Transition - Partner with Group Reporting to supply reconciled local entity financial data, support the transition toward IAS/IFRS dual-reporting, and implement standardized accounting workflows in collaboration with Finance Transformation.
-
Process Excellence & Internal Controls - Enforce internal control procedures over daily entries and payment releases, driving process automation and efficiency enhancements within modern ERP systems like SAP S/4HANA.
-
Team Leadership & People Management - Lead, mentor, and organize the operational accounting team (Specialists and Senior Specialists), setting clear goals, balancing workloads, and fostering high technical standards.
Who we’re looking for
This role needs someone with strong technical expertise in operational accounting, high process rigor, and a proven ability to lead and develop accounting teams in fast-paced corporate environments.
-
Operational Accounting & Closing Expertise - At least 7 years of experience. Deep knowledge of local GAAP (Italian and/or Luxembourg GAAP) and IAS/IFRS framework, full closing cycles, General Ledger management, and tax compliance (VAT, local taxes).
-
Audit & Reporting Experience - Proven track record of managing statutory audit processes and coordinating financial data for group reporting standards.
-
Team Leadership - Demonstrated experience managing, inspiring, and developing an operational accounting team.
-
Execution & Prioritization - Ability to prioritize effectively under tight deadlines and translate group governance into daily operational routines.
Don't worry if you don't tick every box. We believe in the power of different viewpoints and strengths. Your unique perspective is important as we build something special. If you're passionate and can make a difference, we truly encourage you to apply.
