Accounting Manager
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee core financial operations for a hospitality-focused organization in Long Beach, California. This position will lead accounting processes that support accurate reporting, disciplined cash management, and timely payroll administration in a fast-paced, event-driven setting. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise along with the ability to guide day-to-day financial activities and strengthen operational controls.
Responsibilities

Lead monthly accounting activities, including general ledger review, journal entry oversight, account reconciliations, and a timely close process.

Prepare financial reports, support budgeting cycles, and develop forecasts that help leadership monitor performance and plan effectively.

Manage cash flow activities by tracking liquidity, performing bank reconciliations, and overseeing daily cash movement.

Direct payroll operations, including union-related payroll reporting, to ensure accurate and compliant processing.

Coordinate event-related financial settlement activities and maintain clear documentation tied to operational results.

Support audit preparation by organizing records, validating balances, and reinforcing internal control practices across accounting functions.

Oversee sales and use tax filings, inventory-related reconciliations, and other recurring compliance reporting requirements.

Use accounting systems and advanced Excel tools to analyze data, improve accuracy, and support financial decision-making.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.

At least 5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including leadership of accounting and payroll functions.

Prior experience in hospitality, entertainment, food and beverage, venues, convention centers, or other event-based operating environments is a must.

Strong command of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and general ledger management.

Hands-on experience with month-end close, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and account reconciliation activities.

Knowledge of payroll administration, including union payroll reporting, as well as event settlement processes and cash management.

Familiarity with audits, internal controls, sales and use tax reporting, inventory accounting, and compliance-focused financial processes.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with accounting systems are required.
