Accounting Manager

About the Role Robert Half Management Resources is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to support a manufacturing client in Troy, Ohio. This interim role will provide leadership for 3-6 months with potential for contract-to-hire, guiding core accounting operations, producing reliable financial information, and partnering with senior leadership across multiple sites. The role is 100% onsite at the client location in Troy, OH, with an opportunity to lead a small team and strengthen financial processes. What You'll Do

• Direct daily accounting activities and provide leadership to a team of 4-6 professionals across general accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Manage the month-end close process to ensure financial results are completed accurately, reviewed thoroughly, and delivered on schedule.
• Prepare and oversee financial reporting activities, including general ledger maintenance, journal entry review, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Maintain compliance with accounting policies, regulatory requirements, and internal standards while reinforcing effective financial controls.
• Lead coordination for audits and tax-related accounting matters, ensuring timely support, documentation, and issue resolution.
• Work cross-functionally with commercial, operations, leadership, and corporate accounting partners to provide financial insight and support business planning.
• Drive consistency and efficiency across accounting procedures and help standardize processes across multiple locations.
• Support ongoing improvement initiatives within the accounting function, including effective use of ERP tools such as Syteline when applicable. What We're Looking For
• 5+ years of accounting experience, including leadership responsibility within an accounting or finance team.
• Demonstrated background in month-end close, general ledger management, account reconciliations, and journal entry oversight.
• Experience preparing financial reports and maintaining strong knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and internal controls.
• Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and tax accounting processes.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred, with multi-site exposure considered a strong advantage.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with ERP systems; Syteline experience is helpful but not required.
• Ability to work fully onsite in Troy, Ohio, five days per week.
• Strong understanding of applicable regulatory standards and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Nice to Have

• Salary: 50-60 USD hourly.
