About the Role Georgia-Pacific LLC is seeking an Accounting Manager to join the GP Recycling Team in Dothan, AL. This role will lead a team, partner with business and capability leaders to support accounting excellence, and drive process improvements and automation. The position is hybrid (in-office and remote) with local candidates or those willing to relocate encouraged to apply.
What You'll Do
- Build strong personal and team relationships through managing a team of 5-7 employees
- Partner with employees, peers and business to review current processes for improvement/efficiencies and new business for system fit and best process; would involve leading projects and being involved in projects led by others
- Support business and financial planning and analysis through transactional excellence and decision-making processes by building strong relationships to better understand and anticipate business needs
- Support internal financial control environment (review current processes, identify gaps/improvement areas, develop plans as needed)
- Provide accounting and financial reporting oversight and supervision to team members
- Review and approve balance sheet account reconciliations ensuring account balances are correct and adequately supported
- Advance the Principle-Based Management® (PBM®) culture by applying and reinforcing the company’s Guiding Principles
What We're Looking For
- Career Experience: In an Accounting or Finance focused role(s) that demonstrates a working knowledge of financial accounting principles, the general ledger, intercompany entries, month end close, account reconciliation and analysis, and internal financial controls

- Systems and Tools savvy: You have experience with Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365; (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, SharePoint) and a desire to learn multiple accounting systems and tools
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or Business (will put you ahead)
- Experience with integrated financial systems (INFOR M3 or Infinium preferred)
- Experience with analysis and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, OneStream, etc.)
- Developing solid process documentation, SOP's, and promoting best practices
- System implementation, system upgrade, testing and/or reconciling transactions between multiple systems
