Accounting Manager

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer

Position Summary

We are seeking an Accounting Manager who enjoys being hands-on, solving problems, improving processes, and taking ownership.

This role is responsible for the company's day-to-day accounting operations while also serving as an important internal resource for vendor relationships, technology coordination, and outsourced service providers.

The Accounting Manager will lead a small, hands-on team and remain directly involved in the daily work. This is a true working manager role that combines accounting leadership, process improvement, financial reporting, vendor management, and operational support.

What You'll Do

• Accounting & Finance

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations.

• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, reconciliations, and month-end close.

• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reporting.

• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.

• Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts.

• Monitor cash flow and assist with planning for future financial needs.

• Manage vendor payments and ensure appropriate financial controls are followed.

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.

• Provide timely financial reporting and analysis to support business decisions.

• Work with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, banking partners, and other financial resources.

• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, policies, and internal controls.

• Identify opportunities to improve, streamline, and automate accounting processes.

• Assist leadership with financial analysis and special projects as needed.

• Vendor, Systems & Operational Support

• Manage key vendor and service-provider relationships across accounting, technology, and general business operations.

• Serve as the primary internal contact for the company's outsourced IT/MSP partner.

• Coordinate day-to-day technology support and issue resolution with the MSP.

• Manage employee technology onboarding and offboarding.

• Oversee company hardware, software licenses, subscriptions, renewals, and user access.

• Maintain technology asset inventory and lifecycle planning.

• Coordinate cybersecurity, system updates, backups, and business
