Looking for an accounting leadership role with variety, flexibility, and the opportunity to make an impact? Our client, a privately held organization with businesses across multiple industries, is hiring an Accounting Manager in Columbia, Missouri.

This hybrid opportunity offers exposure to real estate, construction, technology, equipment rental, and other industries. You’ll lead a growing accounting team, partner directly with the Controller, and help improve systems and processes across multiple entities.

What You’ll Do

• Lead multi-entity accounting operations and monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.

• Manage and develop Staff and Senior Accountants while overseeing GL and accounting operations.

• Review journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, fixed assets, and consolidated financial statements.

• Ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.

• Analyze financial results and key performance indicators to support business decisions.

• Strengthen internal controls and improve accounting processes.

• Support ERP transitions, acquisition due diligence, integrations, and annual audits.

• Partner with the Controller and cross-functional teams across the organization.

• What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, Masters or CPA preferred.

• At least 3 to 5 years of progressive managerial accounting experience with strong full-cycle accounting knowledge.

• In-depth understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close.

• Ability to solve problems independently, manage competing priorities, and adapt to changing systems.

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative leadership approach.

• Management experience, multi-entity accounting experience, and QuickBooks knowledge preferred.
