Accounting Manager, Close and Consolidations

IGT is seeking an Accounting Manager, Close and Consolidations, to join our Corporate Accounting organization. This role will manage key activities in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and consolidation process, ensuring accurate and timely consolidated financial results in accordance with U.S. GAAP and Company policies.

The manager will combine hands-on accounting with oversight of consolidation entries, intercompany eliminations, foreign currency accounting, reconciliations, and reporting deliverables. This position will work closely with regional finance teams, Financial Reporting, Technical Accounting, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and finance systems teams to resolve close issues and improve the quality and efficiency of the consolidation process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned close and consolidation activities, maintain the close calendar, monitor dependencies and deadlines, and promptly escalate issues affecting reporting accuracy or timeliness.
  • Prepare and review consolidation journal entries and supporting schedules, including recurring adjustments, quarterly entries, and late entries; verify that approved adjustments are reflected in final consolidated results.
  • Coordinate and review intercompany profit eliminations across global entities, including Europe, Africa, Australia, and Panama, and ensure appropriate recognition and reversal of elimination entries.
  • Maintain and validate foreign exchange rates used in the close; prepare and review foreign currency remeasurement, translation, and related consolidation adjustments.
  • Perform and review consolidation processing in SAP and the Company’s consolidation systems, including company-code submissions, consolidation runs, and related system entries.
  • Prepare and review preliminary, post-adjustment, and final company-level consolidation reconciliations; investigate intercompany differences, system exceptions, and out-of-balance conditions through resolution.
  • Coordinate trial balance submissions and validate the completeness and accuracy of entity data, account mappings, and consolidation outputs.
  • Prepare and review cash flow data downloads and supporting schedules, reconcile them to consolidated financial results, and support the consolidated statement of cash flows.
  • Evaluate cumulative translation adjustment balances associated with entity dissolutions or disposals and prepare appropriate entries in accordance with U.S. GAAP and Company policies.
  • Review consolidated balance sheet and income statement movements, investigate unusual fluctuations, and provide explanations and supporting analysis to Financial Reporting and management.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and effective internal controls over assigned close activities; support internal and external audit requests and remediation of identified issues.
  • Guide accounting staff and coordinate with regional and shared services teams; maintain procedures and backup coverage, and improve close workflows, reconciliations, and system automation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.

  • At least 6 years of progressive accounting experience, including responsibility for close and consolidations in a multinational organization and experience supervising staff or leading accounting processes.

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, intercompany accounting and eliminations, foreign currency remeasurement and translation, and consolidated cash flow reporting.

  • Experience with SAP and financial consolidation systems; SAP ECC/ECCS and Oracle HFM experience preferred.

  • Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyze large datasets, reconcile complex balances, and resolve accounting and system discrepancies.

  • Experience maintaining internal controls and supporting audits; SOX experience preferred.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities and meet close deadlines across global teams.
