UBS is hiring a HOLT Accounting & Data Specialist for its HOLT Model Research team within Equity Research, based in Chicago, IL. The team provides market-leading corporate performance and valuation insights to buy-side equities portfolio managers and analysts; UBS HOLT is an industry leader in this space with a strong client franchise among institutional investors, hedge funds, and wealth managers.
Key responsibilities include conducting accounting research on emerging reporting, disclosure, and regulatory developments and assessing their implications for company valuations and the UBS HOLT framework; pulling and analyzing large datasets across sectors, countries, and time periods; developing expertise in financial statement analysis and accounting adjustments to maintain the quality of the HOLT framework; assisting in designing, testing, and validating framework enhancements using HOLT's decades-spanning financial dataset; contributing to published research and internal documentation; and working across a global team providing investment insights and accounting expertise to the HOLT Model Research Team.
Requirements: BS or MS in Accounting or a Finance-related discipline with high technical accounting competence; CPA and/or CFA designation (or active pursuit) is a plus; ideally 1+ years of experience in Equity Research, Public Accounting, Investment Banking, or a Financial Analyst role; passion for equity markets and strong understanding of valuation and corporate performance; experience with large datasets preferred (Databricks, Python, SQL, R a plus); and strong team orientation working across IT/Research/Sales/DevOps. The role is based in Chicago and candidates must be willing to relocate if not already in the Chicagoland area.
The indicative gross base salary range for this full-time role (Chicago, Illinois) is USD 90,000-107,500 per annum, with the exact figure depending on experience, qualifications, education, location, and skill level.
