About the Role This government opportunity, facilitated by Graduates24 on behalf of the Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources, invites unemployed youth to apply for entry-level positions in accounting and supply chain. The roles support financial accounting and procurement processes to ensure efficient service delivery. What You'll Do
- Accounting Clerk: Process invoices within 30 days; create debts and follow up on recovery; capture journals; compile cashbooks monthly; perform general ledger reconciliations; filing. Salaries section duties include processing payroll, employee tax reconciliation, third party payments, travel and subsistence claims, and filing.
- Supply Chain Clerk: Provide secretariat support during bid considerations and contracts conclusion; update and maintain a supplier database; register suppliers on Logis or similar systems; request/receive quotations and place orders; capture specifications on the electronic purchasing system; issue and receive bid documents. What We're Looking For
- A Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification.
- No experience required (for entry-level roles).
- Skills: Financial Management; Client orientation and customer focus; Problem solving; Planning and organizing; Communication (verbal & written); Computer literacy.
- Technical competencies: In-depth knowledge of Public Finance Management Act (1999) and Treasury Regulations; Basic Accounting System (BAS) and PERSAL System or VIP system; Procurement processes; The Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (PPPFA). Compensation & Benefits
