About the Role Xerox seeks an Accountant responsible for the production of consolidated financial and regulatory reporting from a legal entity perspective, in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements. This role performs a variety of finance and accounting functions within the Accounting department to support internal and external bodies.
What You'll Do
- Prepare journal entries; maintain and reconcile ledger accounts.
- Balance books or accounts and prepare profit/loss, income, and balance sheet statements.
- Review and verify the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and monthly reports.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and margin trend analyses.
- Assist with audits by providing supporting records and documentation.
- Conduct studies and develop solutions for improving accounting processes.
- Prepare and analyze tax records and reports; prepare local, state, and federal tax returns.
- Assist in preparing statistical and financial reports.
- Maintain records and perform miscellaneous tax assignments.
- All other duties as assigned.
- May interact with external counter-parties and respond to routine questions related to area of responsibility.
What We're Looking For
- Typically a graduate; degree in accounting or a related discipline.
- Understanding of fundamental theories, principles, and concepts in accounting.
- Ability to receive instruction, guidance, and direction from others; limited decision-making authority guided by policies and procedures.
- Experience with routine accounting tasks such as journal entries, ledgers, and financial statement preparation.
- Familiarity with regulatory and statutory reporting, tax preparation, and audits.
- Ability to work under supervision and follow established processes.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
